AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) is the newest and most efficient image format available today. Based on the AV1 video codec by the Alliance for Open Media (Google, Netflix, Amazon, Mozilla), AVIF delivers up to 50% smaller file sizes than WebP while maintaining equal or better image quality.

Why can't I open AVIF on Windows?
